Tunnel plugs and hollow butt plugs use a central opening instead of a completely solid body. Construction varies by model: some have a permanently open tunnel, while others use a removable stopper or a different internal channel. Plug shape and base design remain equally important.
Plug dimensions and tunnel opening
Check insertable length, maximum width and neck dimensions, along with the internal tunnel diameter where stated. Two plugs with a similar external size can have very different openings.

Material and firmness
Silicone, TPE, TPR, metal and other materials have different firmness and flexibility. Exact dimensions are especially important for more rigid tunnel designs, while the stretch of flexible models varies by material and brand.
Base and overall construction
Flared, round, ring-style and other base formats change the plug's overall profile. Compare the base, neck, tunnel opening and actual dimensions together rather than choosing from appearance alone.
