Cooling lubricants and gels

Cooling lubricants can add a cool or tingling sensation, but they do not share one formula. This category can include water-based, silicone, hybrid and creamier products for general, anal, fisting or external clitoral application. A cool or ice label describes a sensory feature, not the formula base, compatibility or intended area of use.

Types of cooling products

• Water-based cooling lubricants: water-based formulas in different viscosities and volumes.
• Silicone and hybrid options: products with different duration and material-compatibility requirements.
• Anal and fisting cooling gels: thicker formulas that require close attention to composition and stated application.
• Clitoral and arousal gels: smaller formats for targeted external use, only as directed on the label.

Base, intensity and compatibility

Read the formula base and full ingredients first. Check compatibility separately for latex or other condoms and for each sex toy material, because the word cooling does not provide that information. Begin with the amount and application stated on the label, and do not apply to irritated or injured skin. Stop and rinse as directed if you experience intense burning, persistent irritation or unwanted numbness. A cooling effect is not an anaesthetic and should not be used to mask pain. Flavored, kissable, peppermint or warming use applies only when expressly stated for the product.
