A butt plug is a cone- or teardrop-shaped toy with a wide base that's inserted into the anus and stays in place without active holding. The base stops full insertion. It comes in different sizes, materials (silicone, stainless steel, glass) and designs. The purpose is the feeling of fullness, gradual preparation for anal sex and combined stimulation with other toys.

In choosing a size there are two dimensions. Diameter (the maximum width): the critical measurement. Beginners: 2-3 cm. Intermediate: 3-4 cm. Experienced: 4+ cm.
