Speculums and retractors for adult medical play

This category includes vaginal and anal speculums, retractors, scopes, spreaders, grommets and selected dilator kits with different constructions. Products include adjustable metal tools, silicone or plastic designs, and models with two or more blades. The intended area and mechanism differ, so speculum, retractor and dilator are not interchangeable terms.

What to compare

• Stated area of use: vaginal, anal or another specialised application only as specified by the manufacturer.
• Dimensions: length, width or diameter when closed, plus the maximum controlled opening.
• Mechanism: screw, lever, locking system, removable parts or fixed construction.
• Material and finish: stainless steel, silicone or another material, including edges, joints and care instructions.

Use limits and hygiene

These are invasive adult products, not tools for self-diagnosis or treatment. Do not assume an item is medically certified, sterile or suitable for clinical use unless this is explicitly documented. Inspect it for sharp edges, a loose mechanism, rust or damage, and do not use it if a defect is present. Never use force, and stop immediately in the event of sharp pain, bleeding, numbness or difficulty with removal. Clean the item according to its material instructions, remembering that cleaning is not automatically sterilisation. Do not share an invasive product without an appropriate hygiene protocol. Urethral products involve different and stricter risks and should be used only for their specifically stated purpose with appropriate professional guidance.
