A gag is a BDSM toy that blocks speech and controls the mouth. Types: a ball gag, a silicone ball with a strap around the head, the classic; a bit gag, a horse-bit-style rod between the teeth; a ring gag, a metal ring holding the mouth open; a penis gag, penis-shaped; a mouth gag, a plastic frame; and a stuff gag, cloth in the mouth. Purpose: aesthetic and psychological control, blocking speech, as an element of D/s dynamics.

With strict adherence. A non-verbal communication system: a safe word doesn't work with the mouth blocked, so use gestures, a bell held in the hand or a triple grunt. A maximum time of 20-30 minutes continuously. Not with respiratory problems, a cough or a cold. Not if the person can't breathe through the nose. Remove immediately on nausea, yellow nasal discharge or panic. Constant monitoring. Never during sleep or without a dom present. The choking risk is real.
