Four main types. Floggers: many leather strands on a handle, for a diffuse sensation. Cat o' nine tails: fewer but longer strands, more focused. Paddles: a firm flat section, for a localised strike. Crops: a thin rod with a leather square at the tip, precise. Materials: genuine leather, faux leather, silicone. Each type gives a different sensation, from a light tickle to a sharp sting.
